The Ryukyu Association of Karate and Gung-Fu is an organisation open to groups and clubs of all styles of traditional martial arts.

Formed in 1996, the RAKGF now has nineteen large UK groups and ten international groups, and we're still growing! The purpose of the RAKGF is to teach and enjoy traditional martial arts in a traditional way, not as a sport.

Membership is annual and provides the benefit of insurance, gradings and various national and international training events with numerous high graded instructors from a wide selection of styles. Out of this has grown a commumity of like minded martial artists who thrive in an atmosphere of mutual respect, friendship and a desire to maintain the true spirit of the traditional martial arts.

 

Tragic news:
It is with the deepest regret that we must announce that Mick Benfell Hanshi, founder and chairman of the RAKGF passed away peacefully on the 13th October with his close family by his side. (Click here for more information).
